The Lost Symbol Breaks Records
Posted in The Lost Symbol on 09/22/2009 08:07 pm by joetruOne week after Dan Brown’s latest novel The Lost Symbol has been published and the book is already breaking records around the world as the fastest selling adult novel ever.
UK, The States and Canada together have helped set a new record for an adult novel, more than 1 million sales in it’s various formats including hard cover, audio books and ebooks make Dan Brow the most profitable adult fiction author in the world.
After more than six years waiting for a sequel to The Da Vinci Code, people were ready for the next Robert Langdom adventure, a modern Indiana Jones that has had to decipher games in Paris, London and Rome in the previous novels.
This time it was Washington DC’s famous landmarks and Masonic society which serve as the key elements to Langdom latest adventure.
More than 1 million copies in 1 day and more than half a million copies in the UK alone in the first week. Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Waterstone’s and Borders all confirm that the sales of the novel where beyond expectations and that it has fit well with the public expectations, Mouth to mouth has been Dan Brown’s key to success in the past and even though this novel’s sales are following a different pattern from Dan Brown’s previous novels, sales are expected to increase in the next days after the first readers finish the book and pass their impressions to their friends and family.
So far this novel has earned the author and his publishers £4,6 in the UK alone, where you can buy Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol for £7 online
One of the reasons why this novel is selling so fast is the need for an escapism for people in this times of economic doom and gloom, people need to feel engaged to stories that will allow them to forget about their financial problems and one thing that Mr Brown does well is to entertain people with his stories of shady societies that overpower governments and international organizations and that hide under a myriad of symbols and mythology.
